The Executive Office of the Arts Council is responsible for making art and culture an integral part of life in Somerville by sponsoring quality programming that is accessible to all community members. The Council accomplishes this through the development of festivals, youth art programs, exhibitions, concerts, and tours, all of which celebrate and build community. In addition, the Arts Council supports the City’s economic development and planning efforts in administering a grant program through which contributions to the community’s local artists and cultural organizations are made.
